This year’s Great American Smokeout on Thursday will be the 37th such event. The goal, says Ryan Kauffman, isn’t necessarily to quit for life, but rather to encourage people to take the day off from using tobacco. Organizers will have a booth at Lakeside from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free quit support.
