The cruise ship Norwegian Sun was delayed in Sitka Thursday night (6-23-16) due to a mechanical problem with the anchor gear.

Fred Reeder, the ship’s port agent, says one of the winches used to haul the anchor broke. “And they had to fix it, that’s all.”

The ship made repairs and left a little after 9 PM, about 4 hours after its scheduled departure time.
