Sitka Fine Arts Camp is beginning the summer in style, with two fundraisers this weekend. All proceeds support scholarships for students at the summer camp. Program Director Kenley Jackson and Office Manager Drew Sherman joined musician Joe Montagna and artist Mary Goddard to talk about it.

Tlingit Legends is an art show and sale by local artists Mary Goddard and Christal Houghtelling. They will be showing jewelry and photographs that depict Tlingit legends and will donate 25% of the proceeds as a fundraiser to SFAC. The show will be held in the Del Shirley room in Allen Hall on the Sitka Fine Arts Camp from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 20th.

SFACStock (5/19) is a “Woostock-style” lawn party with music, food, and dancing. Joe Montagna is hosting the event on the lawn of the Sitka Fine Arts Camp with other local musicians as a fundraiser for SFAC. The gate opens at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th and Belly Meat takes the stage at 8 p.m. They’ll be followed by Jen Reid and the Bottom Feeders at 9 p.m., Slacktide at 10 p.m., and the Dirty Skeeze at 11 p.m.
