October is Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Month. SEARHC’s Loretta Coleman and Heleena Van Veen talk about the importance of early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

Breast cancer screenings are so important, they say, that SEARHC is offering free mammograms to all Sitkan women 40 or older in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For more information, call Loretta Coleman at 966 8819.

SEARHC is also a free rock-painting event, Paint the Town Pink, to celebrate, remember and support those who are battling or have battled breast cancer. The event will be held at Harrigan Centennial Hall on October 20th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
