For several years interdisciplinary artist Kalie Granier’s work has focused on kelp forest ecosystems. Her recent research project infuses art and ecological engagement. Stronlyo explores relationships between humans and marine ecosystems through the lens of kelp forests. Granier, who is based in Santa Cruz, California, is visiting Sitka this month to interview community members about their experiences with and perspectives on changing kelp forests.
