Debate for the State

November 4th is almost upon us. Be informed when you go to the polls, by tuning in Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm for Debate for the State, airing live from APRN on Raven Radio. From 7-8 pm on Wednesday, hear the Lieutenant Governor candidates, and 8-9 pm for the Gubernatorial candidates. Then beginning at 7 on Thursday, the candidates for US House will take the stage, followed by candidates for US Senate. Tune in and get informed!

Mt. Edgecumbe sends four students to Honor Fest

Jacob Mahoney (Bass II, senior) and Darius Harried (Tenor II, sophomore) are two students from Mt. Edgecumbe that took part in the Southeast Alaska Honor Music Festival this year.

Construction on Blue Lake dam is complete

Sitka marked a major milestone on Monday: construction on the Blue Lake dam is done. Contractors poured the final layer of concrete onto the top of the dam, which now rises 83 feet above its original level.

Native language bill has personal meaning for Sitka family

Twenty Native languages, including Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian, became official state languages on Thursday, Oct. 23. For Sitka resident Heather Powell, the signing marked a personal victory for a member of her family.
