ANB celebrates 100th at ANB/ANS Grand Camp in Sitka

The Alaska Native Brotherhood was founded in Sitka in 1912. The Grand Camp meeting returns to Sitka this year for a celebration of ANB’s centennial, and the annual gathering with the Alaska Native Sisterhood. ANB Camp No. 1 President Gerry Hope, and ANS Camp No. 4 President Jean Arnold offer details on what’s ahead.

Ferry fares rise for third time in a year

It’s costing 10 percent more to take the ferry to and from the Lower-48. The higher fare is part of another round of tariff increases aimed at boosting income and equalizing rates across all routes. more
