High schoolers from around Southeast met in Sitka on Wednesday (1-27-16) to duke it out with their robots at a regional FIRST Tech Challenge.

Those were the voices of Scott McAurthur, Sitka High School robotics coach, James Morris and Jessie Cooper of Juneau’s Thunder High School, Ian Sweeney of Sitka High School, Rebecca Soza, of Juneau, who coordinates the contests for the state and Raymond Osborne of Hoonah City Schools.

Sitka’s Wired Wolves robotics team, and three teams from Thunder Mountain, including Genetic Advantage and Brobotics, advanced to the state championship.
