The public comment period is open for the US Forest Service’s proposal to exempt Alaska from the Roadless Rule. One community where that plan is likely to meet a cool reception is Tenakee Springs, where the Forest Service is holding a public meeting Tuesday, November 5th, 10am – 11:30am in the Community Center. Megan Moody, who runs Tenakee’s Independent Learning Center, spoke with KCAW about the town’s resistance to amending the Roadless Rule.
