A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Sitka medevaced a passenger from a cruise ship Wednesday morning some 45 miles from Sitka.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Juneau Command Center, received a call at around 8 a.m. from the Celebrity Millennium, that a 55-year-old woman aboard the ship was suffering from chest pain. 

The Jayhawk Aircrew from Airstation Sitka arrived at the ship, which was sailing in Chatham strait, around 10 a.m. The medevac was successfully completed, and the passenger was transferred to Sitka for further care.
