A helicopter crew from Air Station Sitka rescues a man from a sinking vessel in Keku Strait on Tuesday (11-1-11). Winds at the time were over 40 knots. The crew flew Lester Kuntz, 47, to his hometown of Wrangell, where he was reported in good condition. His 22-foot boat, The Keeper, later sank. (Video provided by USCG Public Affairs.)

Young swimmers help Wolves to Region V title

A pair of underclassmen made the difference for the Sitka High boys swim team at the regional meet in Juneau over the weekend (Oct 28 - 29, 2011). The Wolves bested Thunder Mountain and Petersburg to capture the Region V title for the fourth time in recent years.
