Angoon held its municipal election early last month. Community members filled four City Council seats, and three School board seats. the finalized results are as follows. 

In the race for seat G, Peter Duncan was the clear winner with 119 votes. Duncan held a 87-vote lead against challenger Daniel Johnson Jr. 

Seat C was claimed by Maxine Thompson with 90 votes against Joshua Bowen’s 64. 

Shiann Kookesh won Seat E with 95 votes, and Barbara George won seat F with a 23 point lead against opponent Jesse Daniels.

All City Council seats are three year terms expiring in 2024.

In the all write-in race for School Board, Shiann Kookesh took home another win, earning herself a seat with seven votes. Kevin Frank Sr. and Albert Howard will join her on the board after receiving six votes each.
