The Sitka Historical Society is acquiring thirty prints and eleven hand-carved blocks by Dale DeArmond. The 2011 Sacred Harp Convention in Sitka, Alaska. Saturday's (10-22-11) events included an all-day sing at The Loft. About a dozen Sacred Harp enthusiasts from around the US joined locals for the event. Dr. Tom Malone, from the University of Massachusettes, led the Song School. Sacred Harp is an acapella vocal tradition dating to 18th century American church music.
