A black bear cub wandered into Tatsuda's grocery store in Ketchikan on Saturday evening (10-15-11). After spending some time sifting through the store’s produce section, the cub was removed by a store patron.

Sitka High debaters Zephyr Feryok and Chaya Pike listen attentively to a "crossfire" from their Ketchikan opponents in the final round of this weekend's Mt. Edgecumbe DDF (Drama, Debate, and Forensics) tournament. Three Sitka teams went 5-1 in the tourney. Feryok and Pike took first based on speaker rank.

Sitka's New Archangel Dancers entertain a packed house during their annual Alaska Day Performance on Friday night (10-14-11). The event, better known as "Big Show," was a tribute to the five women who have served as dance directors over the course of the group's 42-year history. The Alaska Day festival runs through October 18.
