ANB/ANS to Sitka School Board: ‘You must protect these programs’

Faculty and administrators rallied behind cultural programming in the Sitka School District, during the school board’s annual meeting (3-6-16) at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Founder’s Hall this month. As the school district addresses a spending gap of over $2-million, educators stressed that cultural programming was paying dividends for all students.

Judge to resolve email standoff in Sitka homicide case

An effort by the City of Sitka to keep some emails out of a murder trial involving two former municipal employees will be resolved in a judge’s chambers. Judge David George has ordered that over 1,800 emails seized from the computer of Reuben Yerkes be turned over the court for ex parte in camera review.
