Suzan Brawnlyn and Marjorie Hennessy talk about Sitka Kitch – an effort to create a  community kitchen in Sitka. First proposed in 2013, Sitka Kitch recently partnered with the First Presbyterian Church, which has donated the use of its kitchen. The space will be available for small businesses that can’t afford their own kitchen space, and offer technical training for people interested in culinary trades — and recently received a $13,000 grant to improve its space. Sitka Kitch will offer canning classes for community members on July 25 and 26. For more information call Suzan at 747-3183 or Marjorie at 747-7509
