‘Salmon Nation’ to hold first meeting in Sitka

Salmon Nation is convening its first-ever three-day meeting in Sitka this week. Salmon Nation storytelling fellow Ian Gill (and former CEO of Ecotrust) describes the purpose of the event, and outlines hopes for the future. ‘Stardust Ball’ to feature the Danielle Kelly Soul Project

Raven Radio's Stardust Ball is this Saturday, October 26, at Harrigan Centennial HallHeadlining this year's show will be The Danielle Kelly Soul Project. A few advance tickets ($35) remain on sale at Old Harbor Books. In addition to live music and dancing, there will be lip sync and costume contests (most original, best group, and most skill).

Sitka Legacy Foundation distributes $16K to local nonprofits

The Sitka Legacy Foundation on Wednesday (10-23-19) distributed just over $16,000 in grants to local nonprofits, during the regular luncheon meeting of the Sitka Chamber of Commerce. 13 organizations in all received funding, averaging around $1,000 per organization. The foundation this year received requests from 18 nonprofits totaling over $33,000.
