Sitka's annual fall art walk is this Saturday, November 16 from 5-7 p.m.

ANB and ANS to host monthly ‘Winter’s Bone’ flea market fundraiser

This winter, the Alaska Native Brotherhood and Alaska Native Sisterhood in Sitka will host a new monthly indoor flea market.

New Archangel Dancers recruitment open, no experience necessary

The New Archangel Dancers is the second-longest running all-women's Russian Folk Dancing group, and one of Sitka's most popular tourist venues. Recruitment is now open for new dancers, 7-9 p.m. on November 18 and 24, at their studio on Smith Street. No experience is necessary, but must be 18 years and older.

Wild Foods Potluck a chance to connect with the environment, and the community

SCS is holding its annual Wild Foods Potluck this 5 p.m. Sunday, November 10, at Harrigan Centennial Hall. Food is one of the closest humans have to the natural environment. In addition, the Society will hold its annual meeting, and present on some of its work. The event is open to the public.

Sitka Homeless Coalition on track to open supportive housing in summer ’25

A new housing project to support Sitka’s homeless population is slowly becoming a reality – despite a pivot to a slightly different housing model than originally envisioned.

More than just a bike shop, the Salty Spoke builds bike culture, strengthens community

The Salty Spoke is forming partnerships across the community to increase access to cycling, to increase safety, and to educate both riders and drivers. The Salty Spoke offers monthly group rides (the next is 3 p.m. November 17), and practical assistance with bike maintenance. There's also a complete bike maintenance shop for members.
