Free cafe offers childcare, self-care opportunities for parents

Early childhood resources are limited in Sitka, with only a small number of organizations offering childcare for infants and toddlers. Now, the Early Childhood Coalition is taking steps to offer more services for parents.

Sentinel Sports: Sitka, MEHS wrestlers place high at state meet

Sitka High and Mt. Edgecumbe wrestling teams scored well at the state meet in Anchorage last weekend. Although no one took a state title (SHS's Sid Fleming was runner-up at 171 lbs.), the teams came in sixth and seventh place respectively out of 50 teams.

"This is all wrong...I should be writing to ask for a pony or a new life jacket," Thunberg says. Santa's defense is led by the international consultants, The Blitzen Group, who argue that "More toys equal more joys" regardless of the environmental cost. Santa's compromise: Greta can become an elf.
